Bricks, Beats and Pockets

If you’re around in Melbourne town this Friday, why not lend a hand in building a traditional healthcare centre? No, we’re not suggesting you turn up to this event in your overalls, pushing a wheelbarrow and wielding a shovel. All you have to do is bring $10 (or more, if you’re feeling generous) to Bricks, Beats and Pockets, a showcase of street art, DJs and MCs at Donkey Wheel House basement. All proceeds from the event will go to Traditional Healthcare, an Australian based not-for-profit charitable organisation committed to the development of sustainable healthcare facilities for underprivileged communities. This group’s first project is to build a healthcare centre in Datam, India, and while you won’t necessarily get your name on a fancy plaque for your contribution, we can pretty much guarantee you’ll have a great time while giving to this worthy cause. If you can’t make it to Melbourne, you can still bid online for artwork, so check their site for more info!
