POP-UP at The Merri
Whether you’re a fan of the genre or not, there’s no disputing that reality cooking shows have opened up a host of opportunities for aspiring chefs, those with culinary interests, and those of us who just plain love eating – which we’d guess is fairly much everybody. Melbourne’s CERES environmental park has created exactly this kind of opportunity in POP-UP at The Merri, an event at their onsite restaurant. From February 22, it will give passionate cooks and chefs the chance to use local and sustainable produce to cook for those who want to see behind the scenes as they strut their stuff. Kicking off the series is Japanese food-ophile and former Masterchef Top 24 contestant Seamus Ashley, who will produce a seven-course feast of home-style dishes that you’re not likely to find at your local Japanese restaurant.
